iQ font
The week in type is coming very soon. In the meantime, I thought you might enjoy this video from Pierre Smeets and Damien Aresta.
http://www.vimeo.com/5233789More information about the project on Pierre and Damien’s web site, pleaseletmedesign.com. More images on Flickr. You can download the free iQ font from Toyota.
Great, fun project. If you decide to have a go, then please refrain from type design in built-up areas. Oh, and wear your seatbelt.

Wow! This is really great. Just gotta find the right project. Wonder what how it might look with a motorbike?

Pretty awesome project, especially when it’s a target audience that’s fairly small (typographers).

Great concept and a fantastic project. There are some really interesting letters there, and what a great way to create type!

Reminds me of Autobahn with their variations of Helvetica with different materials :)

This idea reminds me of the BMW Z4 advert. There is some cool software that you can use to test out on a BMW in 3D Augmented Reality with the use of your webcam. You can get it from http://www.bmw.co.uk/3dz4
It’s pretty cool check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfI1TXdcyKc

This is a nice viral video for the Toyota iQ.
Of course, we all know it’s easier to just design the fonts using typeface software than setup a crane with cams and Toyota iQ with color dots.
But the viral video is innovative. Good work guys.

Very interesting project. Goes to show that sometimes an unusual approach really can help you get unusual results!

Fortunately, the Boeing Compagny doesn’t need a free typeface yet.

I like this, but the font has some odd problems; namely, it’s lacking double and single quotation marks, but goes out of its way to include the plus/minus symbol. Odd…

Patrick
Okay, it’s just missing single quotes. Still…

Neat idea. I like how creative this idea is. If you have a passion for something (like typography) why not push the ‘norm’ and see how creative you can really get!
