Here at ILT, we’re huge fans of the perennially blue-shirted Oliver Schöndorfer, better known as the Pimp My Type guy. On Oliver’s Pimp My Type website and burgeoning YouTube channel, he eloquently and effortlessly explains many of the finer points of type choice and typography. Travel back to the sixties, and the scene of underground design, in this live interview with Steven Heller discussing his memoir Growing Up Underground: A Memoir of Counterculture New York. We interviewed the brilliantly talented folk at Fontfabric. Their clients include high-profile brands like Nike, Lipton, Hyundai, CNET, and the US national football team. We talked about how they got started, what makes them tick, and about their new release, Audela. Ulrike Rausch is an author and award-winning type designer based in Berlin. She’s also the designer of one of my all-time favorite handwriting typefaces, the beautiful and authentic, LiebeHeide. Women of Letters is the first in a new series of short interviews. In 2009 he was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design from the Type Directors Club of New York for his type family Geneo, recently published by Typofonderie. He is the first typeface designer from outside the foundry to be published […] Based in Melbourne, Australia, Kai Brach is a 30 year-old web designer, working on user interfaces and websites for more than 10 years. Mid-2011 he started Offscreen, a quarterly print publication about the people behind websites, apps, and digital products.
