Missing from this discussion is Stefan Hattenbach’s recent Caslon revival “Replay”. Which can be found here:

Richard, thanks for asking. I'm assuming that this will eventually be up on Webtype.com, the joint venture that Font Bureau is a partner. But I'm not up to speed on that.

Really interesting, Bill.
Lots of luck with this typeface. I can see you put your heart and soul into it.
Are you locked inside Berlow's drawer on this, or can we negotiate using this face on the web? I'm serious!

Regards,
Rich

Great article. I've only recently started getting into typography and there's so much I don't know. This blog is a great reference. Thanks!

A fine article. It cleared quite a few of my doubts about revivals. Thanks.

Thanks all! Jeff, I am reluctant to give a detailed public critique of Caslon revivals since Carol Twombly's Adobe Caslon (1990), as it's hard not to give off an odor of "self-serving" in assessing contemporary work. But I do think that that Adobe Caslon has remained the best. Williams Caslon is, of course, designed to be still better in text. I will give a critique of Adobe Caslon in Part II.
