Bert said: "Everyone should feel free to do comparisons, on condition that they know what they are talking about."

I'm afraid one does not need to caress and verbally lick and slobber technical terms upon a set of typefaces to find and point out similarities (particularly when viewed at small sizes digitally). The fact that one needs to dive down so deep, technically, is good support for the similarity argument.

Museo is refined, unique and playful in some contexts, and then Museo Sans comes along and that quirkiness seems to be less prevalent (for obvious reasons) and is replaced with a bit of the ubiquity that comes along with Avenir, Myriad, Gotham, Frutiger etc. It's a compliment to Jos to have Museo Sans scrutinized against these staples of modern typography.

A type's character and its technical specs are two different conversations, and my comparison was made in the former context

Everyone should feel free to do comparisons, on condition that they know what they are talking about. And I don’t see a lot of valid comparisons here, folks.

Look at Avenir, look at Myriad, look at Museo Sans. Museo has a lower contrast and is more flowing, eg the lowercase a where the downturn from the top to the bowl is just awesome and clean.

Wonderful font and the opposite from expensive (don’t want to use the c-word…).

Just reading the heading made me gasp with teenage-girl-esque excitement, seeing the typeface made with drop everything and stare. It looks fantastic, regarding the "Does it look like Myriad Pro?" question, I'd say it has more a Gotham/Futura feel than Myriad Pro. Myriad Pro isn't quite as friendly as Museo Sans.

Whilst we're on the subject, has anyone else noticed that Delicious looks a little like FF Meta?
