I must take exception to the etymology for “w00t” given in this article. There are numerous proposed explanations (cf. Wikipedia on the matter: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/w00t#Etymology ), with so little evidence pointing the way towards a single correct one that it seems rather silly to assert one specific origin.

Great article-- jam-packed as usual. Thanks!

I wonder whether anyone has any opinion on the appropriateness of justified vs flush left etc. for online type? Is there a general rule of thumb for what looks/reads best?

Also, is there a danger of something about typography getting lost in the online environment? I'm not a type expert, but I am interested and I work for a website and (maybe it's just this company) but the designers give me the impression that type choice isn't really that important and that those decisions are mainly for print...

For a long term user like me it's perfect. The change is hardly noticeable, yet completely renewed. It also seems almost invisible until you focus on it, which is a good thing. It's easier to quickly scan through as well.

I think it also helps the overall design, since you immediately get the idea that red is used primarily for emphasis, rather than a color for the links.
