Two funny things, actually. After I turned down the cover I was relaxing and reading some stuff on typography and design, and ideas started popping into my head for the cover. One of the reasons I find it interesting that I do this work is that I'm not very visually-oriented; for me it's a <i>verbal</i> orientation. But I actually had some pictures in my mind's eye. So I was wavering. And then last night I got email from the potential client that sounded as if she'd never seen my turn-down. So I emailed her some thoughts, some questions, and a bid that was on the high side. I'm waiting to hear--she's a middle person that I'd be subbing from; so I'm waiting for her to talk to her client the author/self-publisher.We’ll see. Okay, so a funny thing happened.
